The USB adapter cable is used for the configuration of sensors within a network. It is used to connect a sensor to the console. It is required if multiple sensors have the same network address (e.g. when buying additional sensors or exchanging temperature sensors in an existing system). The configuration of a new unique address is done automatically by the system.
