The extremely rigid and torsionally stiff carbon fiber extensions are manufactured exclusively by ZEISS. These extensions make it possible to replace metallic extensions used in both the production environment and the quality lab room. Metallic extensions are not sufficiently stable in length when exposed to temperature fluctuations to meet the requirements for measurement uncertainty.

1. Allows fewer stylus systems changes​ ZEISS REACH CFX® are very light weight and allow the assembly of more complex stylus systems without exceeding strict weight limits.​

2. Qualified for all measuring environments​ ZEISS REACH CFX® is significantly more thermally stable than aluminum and up to 60 % more stiff than titanium. This delivers more accurate measurements when scanning the workpiece or in the manufacturing environment.​

3. Increased productivity​ All extension in the portfolio are statically stiffer with less deflection compared to extensions made of titanium or aluminum. This allows faster scanning of the workpiece without losing accuracy. ​

4. Reliable results​ Three stiffness levels are available for REACH CFX® extensions – CFX® 1, CFX® 3 and CFX® 5 to ensure reliable measuring results. REACH CFX® extensions are designed to match different CMM classes so that accuracy is always aligned with the highest possible level.

Suitable for all accuracy requirements

Extensions have the greatest influence on the accuracy and reproducibility of the measurement. Up to 60% of all measurement errors can be attributed to the use of unsuitable extensions. The use of unsuitable extensions ultimately reduces the overall accuracy of the CMM, which results in downgrading of the machine. Not all carbon fibers are the same, so it is worth taking a closer look at the properties of carbon fiber extensions. ZEISS REACH CFX® is available in three different stiffness levels to suit different levels of accuracy. CFX® 1 is priced at the same level as titanium or aluminum extensions, but offers significantly better performance and precision than metal. CFX® 3 is priced in the middle segment and offers significantly higher accuracy than CFX® 1 extensions. CFX® 3 is to a certain extent the all-round option for extensions. CFX 5 rounds off the portfolio and meets the highest technical requirements. These high-end extensions are recommended for high-end machines such as XENOS, Prismo ultra or MICURA. The quality of all REACH CFX® extensions is unsurpassed on the market, so with the right choice of these high-quality REACH extensions, higher accuracy can be achieved on machines in all segments.
