3D scanning sprays are used for matting or antireflection coating of reflective, specular, transparent or dark surfaces in optical 3D laser metrology (also called laser scanning). The 3D laser scan allows a fast and precise measurement of complex geometries. In order to be able to optimally detect shiny and specular objects with the laser, a matting agent is applied to the surface in advance. After a certain time, this matting spray evaporates and leaves no residues on the component. The evaporation time is significantly influenced by the applied layer thickness, the room and component temperature as well as the surface structure.

Volatile scanning sprays are suitable for the following materials:

- Thermoplastics like PC, PP, PU or ABS
- Glass
- Ceramics
- Polyester, cotton, PLA fibers
The suitability for other materials must be tested in advance by the user
